Caribou Cabin

The Caribou cabin is a gorgeous tiny house with stunning views and a very secluded setting. It sits on 8 private acres of pristine forest and borders hundreds of acres of forest service and wilderness land. The private setting offers solitude and great hiking right out the door. Indian Peaks Wilderness is only 3.5 miles away and the popular Caribou hiking and backcountry ski hill is only 2.5 miles. Some small local peaks offer short hikes with great views and the Arapahoe peak summits are only about 7 miles away. Eldora Mountain resort is about 8 miles away and offers a fancy new high speed chair and some very challenging as well as lots of moderate terrain. The cabin is equipped with a comfortable double bed, 2 comfy chairs, a small table, a small fridge, a two burner hot plate, coffee maker, dishes, and cooking utensils. $70/ per nite Sunday through Thur. and $85 for Friday and Sat. or $450/ week plus $20/ visit cleaning fee.  Cash only. The elevation is 9,000 feet and the road is a bit steep so a 4-wheel drive with good snow tires will be needed to get here. The toilet is outside, and the shower is closed for the winter, but the electric baseboard heat is very toasty, and the views are downright incredible. 303-258-7889 or johnmattson@hotmail.com
